Re: Apple clients delays 60 seconds to process mail

I don't suppose using a non-broken mail client is an option?

Re: EFA 4 & Licensing question

No, it's all open source.

However, if you're benefiting from the software, you may wish to consider a donation to the EFA or MailWatch developers.

@shawniverson, do you have any thoughts on that?

Re: Outgoing not monitored

Maybe I am not understanding your question. If you use EFA as your MX host, then all incoming mail will be monitored by the system. internet -> EFA -> your actual mail server -> your users If you use EFA as your outgoing smarthost, then all your outgoing mail will be monitored by the system. your us...

Use EFA as your outgoing mail host and EFA will check your outgoing mail.

Re: ASK SOMETHING | how the EFA works

EFA is a bundled distribution of MailScanner, so you'll want to read the MailScanner documentation for this information.

Start here: https://s3.amazonaws.com/msv5/docs/ms-a ... df#page=23

Enjoy!

There should be an installation log somewhere.

Can you find it and see what the error really is?

Re: Use Postfix to block sender with certain text

Nothing wrong with opening up old threads if they are still relevant. I've not looked in detail at your problem, but if your header_check rules are not working, then I would check your regex and make sure that it is working correctly first. Whenever I've had an issue with the checks not working as e...

Good question. It's a useful feature; I use it all the time with my gmail account.

It would have to be supported at the postfix level I think. I'll have a search for this tomorrow.

Re: view content of allowed messages

I don't have enough information to debug your problem.

Simply put - if you can view the message internally, then you should be able to view the message externally - unless the request to pull the message view is using a non external url.

I continue to use the "site:https://forum.efa-project.org/" trick to search. I find these searches to be more effective than the built in site searches.

examine the url carefully. Is it available externally? Is it blocked by your home firewall?

no, not without making code changes to mailscanner or handling the cleanup manually/self scripted.

i don’t believe that it would be too hard to script.

Re: Release Block Attachments with Sendmail

Is there anything in the efa interface, or in the log files when you try to resubmit the messages? A problem I've had is when a message gets false flagged as a virus and blocked. In this case, I had to update my virus signature whitelist, restart clamd, and then resubmit the message to the mail queu...

Re: EFA4 - Can Centos 8 be used

Probably not, as the EFA build depends on the packages in Centos 7.

The next version will support Centos 8

You can see the discussion about this here: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=1038&p=14763&hilit=Centos+8#p14763

Re: Recommended partitioning of a vm for EFA 4

Good question! I just did a default install the other day and it basically made 2 50GB partitions managed by lvm I'm not actually happy about that, so I'm thinking of reinstalling. My own preference is to just set it as a single 100GB partition mounted under / without using LVM. Why? Well, it's a VM...

Yes. That would work, and would be a better fix than my suggestion.

I'll give this one a try.

I was previously using the ole2macro.pm add in to detect (partially) word macros.

If you search in the forums, you'll find that this has been discussed.

The short answer is, "kinda". Due to the complexities in the MS Word file format, it is very difficult to consistently do so.
