New Server Setup

Post by mkongsiri »

Hi,

I was hoping someone could help me with setting up my EFA appliance. Ive followed the guide and have performed all the post installation and configuration instructions. The EFA appliance and zimbra mail server are on the same network 192.168.1.8 and 192.168.1.6 respectively. My MX record points to mail.xxx.com which directs mail to my Ip address. I tried switching the inbound port forwards to the EFA appliance (192.x.x.8) but no mail is getting delivered and no messages are showing up in the admin console. Am I missing something in the congiuration somehow? Ive logged into the efa server via SSL and verified the transport settings. If inbound mail port is pointing to the efa server, shouldn't the mesaages at least appear in the admin copnsole? Thanks in advance for any help!

1) Is your public mx record pointing to your EFA?

2) Is your firewall allowing traffic inbound on port 25 to EFA?

Hi, Thanks for the reply

1) Is your public mx record pointing to your EFA?

Yes, the EFA is on the same network as the current mail server.

2) Is your firewall allowing traffic inbound on port 25 to EFA?

Port 25 is forwarded to the local IP of the EFA appliance. Do I need to forward any other ports?

1) What is your mx record and where does it point on the Internet?

2) Port 25 is all you need by default.

Thanks for the reply, MX record was pointing to my public IP. I ended builkding the appliance again form the ISO and now it seems to be working.
