it is safe to download clamav from Clamav site and install it manually? or there is another way to do it.

Unless you are having the problems fixed by this patch, I'd wait for it to appear in the yum repository; otherwise you might be creating a problem for yourself on future updates.

I did it anyway but on Test System, i will see then what happens on the next Update.

1- download latest Version from Clamav Site
2- ./configure --with-user=clam --with-group=clamav --with-dbdir=/var/lib/clamav --prefix=/usr --sysconfdir=/etc
3- make
4- make install

# clamd -V
ClamAV 0.99.3/24271/Wed Jan 31 02:25:10 2018

i just test this as well, and its appear to work. but i wont have it on production untill the yum is availble .

Conclusion:

it is better to wait of an efa Update instead of a manually Clamav upgrade. as pdwalker already said.
