unable to retrieve male from outside of network

Post by lantech19446 »

I can send and receive mail from work but when I leave work I lose any access to mail. I have my public mx record pointing to my public IP and forwarded inside my work to the private address of the efa appliance. the PTR record for my public IP is also accurate but when I leave the local network and try to login with my username and password those requests aren't being forwarded to the email server. I'm assuming there's some configuration I missed during setup and hopefully someone will be able to tell me where it is.

This is typically a function of your firewall, not eFa.

depending on what kind of email server you are using, you may have to forward different ports to different internal IPs. Pretty much the only port that goes to my EFA server from outside is 25. everything else gets pointed directly to exchange server.
