Thank You and Farewell – EFA Project is Shutting Down

Post by darky83 »

Dear Community,

After many years of developing and maintaining this project, it is with a heavy heart that we announce the official shutdown of efa-project.org.

This decision hasn't come easily. Like many open-source efforts, the project has required a great deal of time, energy, and resources — all of it on a volunteer basis. Over time, the demands of hosting, maintaining the software, and supporting the community have grown significantly. Balancing this with our personal lives has become increasingly challenging.

Moreover, the landscape of spam filtering solutions has evolved. There are now many robust and viable alternatives available, and we believe the open-source community is well-served in this space.

We’re incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved together — and deeply grateful to everyone who contributed, whether through code, feedback, documentation, or simply by being part of our community. Your support and enthusiasm made it all worthwhile.

The site and related resources will remain online for a short time to allow people to archive anything they might still need. After that, efa-project.org will be taken offline or set to a read-only status, we are not sure which approach we are going for just yet.

Thank you again for being part of this journey with us. We hope the project has been as helpful to you as it has been meaningful to us.

With gratitude,
The eFa Team

P.S. If there are any community members interested in continuing the development of EFA, we would be more than happy to assist with a handover. Please reach out — we’d love to see the project live on in new hands and are even willing to support with hosting and the domain if necessary.
