Hi,

I just stumbled upon this project and really like it a lot.

I mostly have the need for spam gateway, but have a few users that need to get mail with pop/imap and don't really want another VMwave image running for that. Is there any "issues" I have to be aware of installing Dovecut and allowing a few users to pop the server?

You could find many other fully fledged mail server project.
Just one: iredmail.
