Hello eFa users, I'm using eFa 4.04, and I have a problem whereby the from address is changed on lots of emails, this is happening for many legitimate emails.
for example an email comes
from: Companies House Notifications <companies.house.notifications@notifications.service.gov.uk>
but after passing through efa the from is changed to:
from: 0102019a734fa7ea-8c6522b2-43d6-4f6d-b96c-2a04515500ca-000000@mail.notifications.service.gov.uk
now the email is bounced at the other side because this breaks the dkim since the From domain was changed
bounced (host aspmx.l.google.com[64.233.166.26] said: 550-5.7.26 Unauthenticated email from notifications.service.gov.uk is not 550-5.7.26 accepted due to domain's DMARC policy. Please contact the 550-5.7.26 administrator of notifications.service.gov.uk domain if this was a 550-5.7.26 legitimate mail. To learn about the DMARC initiative, go to 550 5.7.26 https://support.google.com/mail/?p=DmarcRejection ffacd0b85a97d-42ac67a6ea4si7891179f8f.519 - gsmtp (in reply to end of DATA command))
I have looked over all the options on Mailscanner.conf and checked the postfix configs but I cannot find any part where I can see how to correct this behaviour and preserve the original sender, does any one have any clues for me?
changing from address
Re: changing from address
On further digging seems to be something to do with msmail using verp envelope senders, these are also incorrectly populated into maillog table as the from_address
trying to work out how to force it to use the original from and not the verp one...
