some email html content converted to txt
some email html content converted to txt
Hi
I have emails from some domains stripping the html content and only showing text.
I went and looked at MailScanner.conf and the setting "Convert HTML To Text = no" is currently set.
Which other line could be causing html content to be removed and replaced with text?
Thank you
Edward

Anyone with feedback?
Re: some email html content converted to txt
Not enough information given to understand your problem. Can you be explicit in what exactly is happening?
Re: some email html content converted to txt
My customer receives html emails from various places however the entire body of the email has all the images removed and you only have url's to the images and text.
Here is an example of an email:

Re: some email html content converted to txt
Describe the mail flow for me.
How does mail get into the system? How many servers/devices/ does the mail go through before it hits your customers mailbox?
As far as I know, EFA/Mailscanner* do not strip out images from some emails. Is there something else doing before the mail gets to EFA?
* Actually, Mailscanner has lots of options, so I might have overlooked something.

Re: some email html content converted to txt
before mail would come from the internet to exchange and the emails were received without an issue.
eFA is now in front of exchange and only since the change does it do this to the emails with html content.

Re: some email html content converted to txt
Hmmm... I've never heard of that before, so unless Exchange is doing something new, it must be EFA.
Let me dig through the /etc/MailScanner/MailScanner.conf and see if anything jumps out at me.

Re: some email html content converted to txt
Thank you, I tested it earlier by changing mx records to Exchange directly and the mails are coming through fine. When i put eFa back, i get the emails as per my example.
It might be something small that needs to be changed I am guessing?

Re: some email html content converted to txt
Can you check the settings of these two parameters in your installation?
Convert Dangerous HTML To Text =
Convert HTML To Text =
My settings for the above two are "no", while the other Allow* parameters are set to disarm. I think that is why my html mail goes through untouched.
I'm not sure what the default setting is. If it's not the default, then I've changed it years ago and forgot I did it.
