getting this the last few days, i tried "yum clean all" and it went away for a few hours but came right back today. I believe its an issue with the repo but a bit unsure.

Seeing the same message hourly from cron. Started October 20, 2020 at 10:12 AM Eastern time.
Wondering if you were able to resolve this last time, or if it just went away on its own?

Code: Select all

/etc/cron.hourly/0yum-hourly.cron:

Not using downloaded eFa4/repomd.xml because it is older than what we have:
  Current : Mon Oct 19 18:02:05 2020

I get this in batches pretty frequently too, probably every week or two, then they disappear til next time. I saw a reply on centos forums https://forums.centos.org/viewtopic.php?t=63658 saying it was something at the repo end. Another search brought up a github conversation https://github.com/sous-chefs/yum/issues/96 they are mentioning that its when a downstream repo is out of sync from an upstream repo. So perhaps we are seeing mirrors that are out of sync.

Might go to explain what's happening, but not quite sure what to do to mitigate it. For me, I'll probably just ignore them for now.

I get the same message every hour since today.
Doing some more digger I found the ssl certificate at https://dl.efa-project.org/ expired today.

It was impossible to connect to the CentOS servers.
This could mean a connectivity issue in your environment, such as the requirement to configure a proxy,
or a transparent proxy that tampers with TLS security, or an incorrect system clock.
You can try to solve this issue by using the instructions on https://wiki.centos.org/yum-errors
If above article doesn't help to resolve this issue please use https://bugs.centos.org/.

One of the configured repositories failed (eFa-Project),
and yum doesn't have enough cached data to continue. At this point the only
safe thing yum can do is fail. There are a few ways to work "fix" this:

     1. Contact the upstream for the repository and get them to fix the problem.

     2. Reconfigure the baseurl/etc. for the repository, to point to a working
upstream. This is most often useful if you are using a newer
distribution release than is supported by the repository (and the
packages for the previous distribution release still work).

     3. Run the command with the repository temporarily disabled
            yum --disablerepo=eFa4 ...

     4. Disable the repository permanently, so yum won't use it by default. Yum
will then just ignore the repository until you permanently enable it
again or use --enablerepo for temporary usage:

            yum-config-manager --disable eFa4
        or
            subscription-manager repos --disable=eFa4

     5. Configure the failing repository to be skipped, if it is unavailable.
Note that yum will try to contact the repo. when it runs most commands,
so will have to try and fail each time (and thus. yum will be be much
slower). If it is a very temporary problem though, this is often a nice
        compromise:

            yum-config-manager --save --setopt=eFa4.skip_if_unavailable=true

failure: repodata/repomd.xml from eFa4: [Errno 256] No more mirrors to try.
https://dl.efa-project.org/rpm/eFa4/x86_64/repodata/repomd.xml: [Errno 14] curl#60 - "Peer's Certificate has expired."

Is anyone else seeing this message today?

I am located in Canada and I think that the mirror closest to me might be out of sync. Since I'm fairly new to using linux, is there any way that I can check/correct this error?

Cheers

Downloaded: Mon Dec 26 01:02:06 2022

I have check and certificate of https://dl.efa-project.org looks good:

echo '' | openssl s_client -servername dl.efa-project.org -connect dl.efa-project.org:443 2>/dev/null | openssl x509 -noout -dates
notBefore=Jan 15 13:05:44 2023 GMT
notAfter=Apr 15 13:05:43 2023 GMT

Same here the error I have been getting since yesterday is:

Code: Select all

/etc/cron.hourly/0yum-hourly.cron:

Not using downloaded eFa4/repomd.xml because it is older than what we have:
  Current : Tue Feb 14 18:02:07 2023
  Downloaded: Sun Dec 25 18:02:06 2022
A quick update running the command

Code: Select all

yum clean metadata
Seems to have resolved the issue
