Hi,
according to Postfix Add-on Software the way how MailScanner integrates to Postfix will result in corruption or loss of email. Also the man page header_checks clearly states that "HOLD [...] is not supported with smtp header/body checks".
I would like to hear opinion of Efa users if they have noticed any problems, loss or corruption of emails?

Re: About MailScanner/Postfix "Received:/ HOLD" reliability
This goes waaay back...
The postfix team does not support any platform that pulls directly from the queue directories. They support the use of milter plugins (which I am currently working on one for MailScanner for the next version of eFa).
However, MailScanner, does do exactly that using the HOLD queue.
The claim that this results in corruption or loss of email, I think is a stretch. I have not seen this behavior on any system.

Shawn is being very cautious in his language.
I'll be less so.
It causes no problem whatsoever in thousands of systems that have been doing it for years on end. So unless Postfix makes a change that effectively breaks that functionality, there are no issues.
And if Shawn is working on a milter plugin to resolve the issue between Mailscanner and the Postfix crew, it'll be a non issue longer term.
