High Score Spam putting all mail into queue loop

Hi all,
I am running EFA-3.0.2.3 for my home system (just my family - not an international megacorporation), and over the past couple of weeks when a message with a high spam score arrives, it stops any further delivery of mail.
Looking at the stats on the Mail Watch page, the number of processed messages is in the tens or hundreds of thousands (as opposed to a couple of dozen in a typical day).
The mail queue is still very short (this morning it was just 18).
Going into the Postfix Mail Queue page and manually releasing entries doesn't make any difference.
Luckily, applying IT Crowd logic and rebooting the EFA server clears the jam, delivers the good messages and quarantines the single high score spam message.
Has anyone else seen this?
Is there a setting in EFA or one of its modules to deal with this?
Mark
