Quarantine Confusion

Post by stusmith »

I've been reading MailScanner and MailWatch documentation trying to get an answer to this. I'm unclear on whether or not messages that have been released or deleted from the quarantine should still show up in the quarantine listing. I don't know if I have a bad configuration or if this is expected behavior.

Messages are quarantined properly and show up in the quarantine according to the filters for each user. When a message is released, it is delivered as expected. When a messages is deleted, it is removed from the filesystem ( /var/spool/MailScanner/quarantine ).

What's throwing me off is that messages still show up in the quarantine list as if they were still present, without regard to any operation performed on them. After you release a message, it still continues to trigger Quarantine Summary Reports as if it was a new message. Deleting the message resolves this, but the message still displays as if it is still present in the quarantine. The only discernible difference is that the operations bar at the bottom of the details page is missing once a message has been deleted.

Any insight into this?
