setup for smart host

I'm using xeams mail server which was working until this morning now nothing outbound seems to be getting out. When I'm setting up the information for smart host in my primary server what port should I be pointing it too? Also can someone provide generalized dns structure for windows server so I make sure this is setup correctly?
