Searching the forum fails

I am a little embarrassed to ask, I feel I am missing something really obvious.

Most of my forum searches are failing. I try to look for answers before I post but in this case I am not coming up with much since I frequently run into a reply that my search was too common. Yet when I try to narrow it i still am unsuccessful.

Examples:
"The following words in your search query were ignored because they are too common words: mysql login default."

"The following words in your search query were ignored because they are too common words: password mysql default."

What do I need to do differently?

Thanks!

Todd

are you logged into the site when you do your searches?

I seemed to notice that searches were more limited unless you are registered and logged in.

that may not actually be the case, maybe I am getting better at picking my search terms.

I have better luck just using google...never been a fan of phpBB's search engine....

Code: Select all

<searchphrase> site:forum.efa-project.org

I added google search to the 'advanced' search item.

Just press the little 'gear' next to the search bar at the top and use the "GOOGLE SEARCH QUERY" at the top.

Yes I am logged in.

Thanks for the tip on using the Google Search. I have use the Advanced Search but just thought the forum Search would be more effective that Google. I will use Google in the future.
