mysql error after 3.0.1.8

hi guys.
Just upgraded one of three efa's in our environment.
The first two upgrade went thru with no problems, but we experiencing a problem on the 3rd one.
When we run mailscanner web. https://efa.domain.com we recieve an error:
Could not connect to database:(2002 Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (2))

Any help would be more then appreticiated.

Space:
Free Disk Space
/ 5.39GB [70%]
/boot 317.4MB [66%]
/tmp 923.4MB [95%]
/var 17.99GB [86%]

Some of the Google hits says you must check the /var space but it looks ok to me 86% ?
We have also tried with going ssh with admin account and choosing option 10 - MYSQL recovery, but that did not helped.
After rebooting EFA it still throws that MySql error...

yes. but it has random crashes
