Delivery from bSMTP server puts all messages in greylist

Post by e-d-i-t »

Where to set an IP address in a whitelist (or how) for a bsmtp server which delivers all mail to EFA?
After a little test, any mail gets in the greylist, nothing is accepted.

I set an IP address in whitelist as FROM, with TO set to default (even tried *)

All your incomming mails are comming from one point to efa?
It sounds like you would't need the greylist.

Correct. Business wise we have a similair solution with an smtp gateway, but there I can set an IP from the failover smtp in a whitelist so it doesn't get greylisted or blacklisted and meanwhile maintain the greylist for other incoming mail.

So I expected somewhere to fill in an IP as whitelist, but maybe I'm doing it the wrong way?

Enabeling greylist makes sense if your efa got mails from multiple mail servers. I would disable it if therese just one point of incomming mails (another appliance in front of efa).

In my case, yes. I probably will.
For me antispam filtering and anti virus scanning, attachment filtering is enough.
Allthough I would be very interested in seeing an IP being set in the whitelist, cause then I could use EFA in those other environments too :D

Now I've read something about how greylisting works, skip my last wish about IP filtering...
I have a better understanding now how EFA works. I was comparing it too much with Trend Micro Interscan Messaging Suite.
