friends,
any tips on how to permit trusted users to report spam? I use spamcop, but wanted something more automated that would auto report emails in a certain folder.
I dont mean bayes, rather sending to spamassassin team, for example, to create new rules, etc.
I saw this https://wiki.apache.org/spamassassin/ReportingSpam
It says it reports to UsingRazor, UsingPyzor, and UsingDcc and also says: The message will also be submitted to SpamAssassin's learning systems; currently this is the internal Bayesian statistical-filtering system (BayesInSpamAssassin)
So I guess it doesnt help in terms of sending to SA devels to create new rules... Maybe their forum would be best option, but too much work...
Spamassassin is great, but sometimes, with foreign languages, etc. I believe it could be better. Sometimes I have the impression the project isnt so active as it could be.
Thanks.

Re: reporting spam
The command for reporting spam is fairly simple. Also, MailWatch has a "Report" option built-in. But you are wanting this automated, right?

Hi, Shawn
Thanks for reply. You mean mailwatch.org? Yes, something automated.
Im wondering if its worth reporting spam to spamassassin. Do you know if they really consider improving rules based on reports? Because as per the link I had sent on their site, it says it helps sending reports Razor, Pyzor, and UsingDcc and also says: The message will also be submitted to SpamAssassin's learning systems; currently this is the internal Bayesian statistical-filtering system (BayesInSpamAssassin)
And we have our own bayes system, so not sure if it helps much... I already do report spam to spamcop via spamtrap and email reporting, which helps a lot and I know spamcop also reports to other sources...
BTW, I see your signature saying youd like to receive spam
Does it interest you some nice spam traps abroad, etc. to help EFA?
Thanks!

Re: reporting spam
Spamassassin has a large bayesian filter that receives spam reports. In the big scheme of things, no, it probably doesn't have a big impact.
Yes, it helps to see what kind of spam is going around to help improve EFA...what do you have in mind?
