Hello,
I try to allow .dbf files without success
I put in /etc/MailScanner/filename.rules.conf
allow \.dbf$ - -
allow \.DBF$ - -
Error is
application/octet-stream; charset=binary
I don't want to disable binary files.
It is possible resolv that?

Re: Allow DBF file
Can you give us more information, because I an unaware of where eFa/Mailscanner/clamav(?) disables the sending of binary files.
Where did you see the error message? Is there any more information around the error message that may help us isolate what is triggering this error?
Is the error message from eFa, or is the error message from somewhere else?
Let us know.

Re: Allow DBF file
Hello nicutdk,
take a look at 'filetype.rules.conf'
There you can try to allow executables ...
Ulrich.

Re: Allow DBF file
Hello nicutdk,
are these DBF-files in an archive?
If yes you also need to edit 'archives.filename.rules.conf'.
Ulrich.

Re: Allow DBF file
Hi,
Is not archive.
This dbf file is open with OpenOffice so is not executable.

Re: Allow DBF file
So Mailscanner is detecting it as an executable file. I am not sure what to do about that other than to submit a bug report to the Mailscanner project.
If you add the dbf file to a zip file and send that, will it pass?
Re: Allow DBF file
I archived the file but the same. Block the mail.

Re: Allow DBF file
can you email me the test.dbf file so I can see what happens when it hits my system? If so, check your pms. I'll send you my email address to there.
Re: Allow DBF file
is your entry to /etc/MailScanner/filename.rules.conf tab-stop seperated?
Re: Allow DBF file
I think it could be fietype.rules:
#EXAMPLE: deny - x-dosexec No DOS executables No DOS programs allowed
Add a line to allow them ...
