EFA as a service, not a gateway?

Post by echodreamz »

Is it possible to run EFA as a service rather than a inbound gateway? For example, SmarterMail can directly connect to the SpamAssassin deamon on port 783. This would be easier as I do not have to reconfigure my network.

Is this possible?

There are many components involved with EFA that will not allow it to run as a service as you describe. Perhaps you are looking for a cloud version, or just a off-prem solution of EFA, similar to how Barracuda and Proofpoint have their cloud offerings?

There is currently not a cloud platform for EFA, but im sure if requested enough, we can build it out.

Yeah, was looking for something similar to how SpamAssasin-In-a-box works. just runs spamassassin as a daemon that SmarterMail pumps messages into and gets the result from.

SAinabox though is horrible though and extreme on resources.
