Hello,
I have a problem with the * .DBF email attachment.
MailScanner marks it as an illegal Bad Content attachment (MailScanner: No programs allowed (PR.DBF))
I added an exception in filename.rules.conf and restarted MailScanner.
No success, still Bad Content
Can you help?
Thank you

Re: Problem with DBF attachment
This is a filetype rule that is firing...
/etc/MailScanner/filetype.rules.conf
/etc/MailScanner/filetype.rules.conf
Code: Select all
deny executable No executables No programs allowed
Re: Problem with DBF attachment
Thanks, it works.
does this edit enable / disable all executable files (programs)?
Can this exception only be for DBF files?
How to write to allowed. (Example)
Thank you very much.

I'm seeing lots of instances where mailscanner sees .dat files and blocks them as executable - I could do with excluding dat extension as executable same as this chap wanting to allow his dbf rules, I dont really want to allow all 'executable' files and rely on the mercy of exchange/outlook doing its job.
