spf is failing for my local mail servers because the efa mail filter is sitting between them and the internet

Exchange mail server >>>>>> local network/ip >>>>>>>>>>> efa filter >>>>>>>> internet

the only servers that should be sending internet mail for my domain is the efa filter.
however if flags all messages I send as spam because the spf fails.

how can I stop efa/mailscanner from checking spf from my local mail servers?

I appear to have found my own solution. not sure if this is the best method or not but

I edited the file /etc/opendkim/TrustedHosts

and added my local mail servers there
