Updates ran over the weekend. Lag, webui extremely unresponsive other issues

Post by itgandhdental »

Rebooted finished update. see a bunch of errors when loading clam AV, need to check logs for error message, the WebUI is very sluggish, appears to take upwards of 15 minutes to scan an email and let it through.

I do not know cent OS as well as I would like, is anyone else experiencing any issues similar after the update to 3.0.2.3?

I've disabled the modsecurty under Apache settings, rebooted twice, the partitions do not appear to be full and htop does not reveal any processes spiking the CPU, yet everything is slow as hell right now.

1) Which version did you upgrade from? A large version jump?

2) How's your mail queues?

3) If you run lint tests, what are the results and where is the delay showing in the tests?

4) Are the clamav errors coming from the yara ruleset? If so, they are benign and can be ignored. They are not applicable. If not, there could be an issue here.

5) How much memory is allocated to eFa (8 GB is recommended)? Lower memory may cause excessive swapping.

set to auto update, so should have been 3.0.2.2 to 3.0.2.3

Queues are 0/0

SpamAssassin Lint test:
May 31 13:41:12.193 [24500] dbg: rules: __HAS_LIST_ID merged duplicates: __ML2 .84535 (yellow)
Total: 4.07823

Mail Scanner lint test:
config: failed to parse line, skipping, in "/etc/mail/spamassassin/local.cf": subject NO_wrong /\bwrong/i 1.05541 (orange)
SpamAssassin reported an error. 7.31744 (Red)
Finish - Total Time 10.67784

I had it set to 2, bumped it to 4, been running on 2 for a while with no issue. also gave it two more cores.

You'll need 8 unless you turn of some of the extra services like webadmin and the performance collection process.

To confirm whether this is the case, run this command from the shell and report the results like I have here:

Code: Select all

[root@efa mysql]# free
total used free shared buffers cached
Mem: 8061076 7354000 707076 1808 337972 4559368
-/+ buffers/cache: 2456660 5604416
Swap: 0 0 0

Not sure what it did, but everything is responding like normal again.

mailscanner lint test still shows SA error

SpamAssassin reported an error. 2.62284 (RED)

but everything else appears to functioning normally.

The lag is back

Looks like my greylist db is corrupted. it still works but is slowing everything down. has anyone run into this before? also I think centos thinks it's out of space. which it is not, going to try purging my log files and see if that helps anything.
