No update since 4.0.3

Post by Citabria79 »

Hi,

I might be doing something noobish, but when I select "Update Now" in the configuration menu not much seems to happen. When I do it at the shell, it mentions that no updates are available, which I find rather strange knowing that the interface is stating that my version is 4.0.3.

Loaded plugins: fastestmirror

* eFa4: dl5.efa-project.org
* epel: www.mirrorservice.org
* extras: distrib-coffee.ipsl.jussieu.fr
* updates: centos.mirror.ate.info
No packages marked for update

The reason I was looking for this update was because I have the issue with the virus scanner which is crashing: https://github.com/E-F-A/v4/issues/256

In the release notes of 4.0.4-5 there is mentioned "Remove yara rules from /var/lib/clamav", does this mean all files with file extension *.yara" in /var/lib/clamav are supposed to be removed?

Replication appears to be down between the mirrors, I'll take a look tonight.

Hello,
I'm facing the same issue.
After a little digging, I found out that the repo that the update process are trying to reach are no longer accesible.

No packages marked for update
When digging more, I found in the Readme file at http://ftp.rezopole.net/centos/7.8.2003/ :

Code: Select all

This directory (and version of CentOS) is deprecated. For normal users,
you should use /7/ and not /7.8.2003/ in your path. Please see this FAQ
concerning the CentOS release scheme:

https://wiki.centos.org/FAQ/General

If you know what you are doing, and absolutely want to remain at the 7.8.2003
level, go to http://vault.centos.org/ for packages.

Please keep in mind that 7.8.2003 no longer gets any updates, nor
any security fix's.
Am I missing something ?
Could you provide us (for the people facing the same problem) with a workaround in order to upgrade our 4.0.3 version of EFA please ?
Thanks in advance,
Regards

Code: Select all

yum clean all
yum update
Usually fixes these kind of issues.

Although you may also need to peek into /etc/yum.conf.d and check that you are using just /7/ for your CentOS repos.

Re,
Thanks for the tip.
This helped me with the system packages : I was able to update the system
Meanwhile, I'm still stuck with the 4.0.3 release :

Code: Select all

Do you have the file /etc/yum.repos.d/eFa4.repo?

If so, does it match this?

Code: Select all

[eFa4]
name=eFa-Project
baseurl=https://dl.efa-project.org/rpm/eFa4/x86_64
mirrorlist=https://dl.efa-project.org/rpm/eFa4/mirrors-eFa
failovermethod=priority
enabled=1
what's the result of the following command:

Code: Select all

yum list |grep ^eFa

Here is what I have :

Code: Select all

[root@efa antispam]# yum list |grep ^eFa
eFa.noarch                               1:4.0.4-9.eFa.el7             @eFa4-Testing
eFa-base.x86_64                          1:4.0.0-1.eFa.el7             @eFa4-Testing
eFa.x86_64                               1:4.0.2-19.eFa.el7            eFa4-Testing
eFa-base.noarch                          1:4.0.0-1.eFa.el7             eFa4-Testing
eFa-debuginfo.x86_64                     1:4.0.2-19.eFa.el7            eFa4-Testing
And :

Code: Select all

[root@efa antispam]# yum list installed|grep ^eFa
eFa.noarch                          1:4.0.4-9.eFa.el7              @eFa4-Testing
eFa-base.x86_64                     1:4.0.0-1.eFa.el7              @eFa4-Testing
But you must know that my eFa has upgraded itself few days ago (without any tweak from me).

I've just added the repo you gave in your reply (because I didn't have the file you mentionned).
I did yum update followed by yum upgrade :

Code: Select all

[root@efa antispam]# yum update
Loaded plugins: fastestmirror, langpacks
Loading mirror speeds from cached hostfile
 * base: centos.crazyfrogs.org
 * eFa4: dl6.efa-project.org
 * eFa4-Testing: dl2.efa-project.org
 * epel: mirrors.up.pt
 * extras: centos.crazyfrogs.org
 * updates: centos.crazyfrogs.org
No packages marked for update
[root@efa antispam]# yum upgrade
Loaded plugins: fastestmirror, langpacks
Loading mirror speeds from cached hostfile
 * base: centos.crazyfrogs.org
 * eFa4: dl6.efa-project.org
 * eFa4-Testing: dl2.efa-project.org
 * epel: mirror.nl.leaseweb.net
 * extras: centos.crazyfrogs.org
 * updates: centos.crazyfrogs.org
No packages marked for update
And now :

Code: Select all

[root@efa antispam]# yum list |grep ^eFa
eFa.noarch                               1:4.0.4-9.eFa.el7             @eFa4-Testing
eFa-base.x86_64                          1:4.0.0-1.eFa.el7             @eFa4-Testing
eFa.x86_64                               1:4.0.2-19.eFa.el7            eFa4
eFa-base.noarch                          1:4.0.0-1.eFa.el7             eFa4
eFa-debuginfo.x86_64                     1:4.0.2-19.eFa.el7            eFa4
I presume my eFa is up to date, nop ?

Yeah you are up to date. You can ignore the x86-64 packages. I'm thinking the version in /eFa/eFa-Version needs bumped. I'll double check that.
