Hi all,
I just tried to get eFa 4 installed on CentOS8 via build.bash
First problem I realized is the section "Enabling CentOS 8 PowerTools Repo", which stopped with "No such command: config-manager. Please use /usr/bin/yum --help".
Easy fix -> "yum install 'dnf-command(config-manager)'"
Next problem, I do not come around is "Installing eFa packages (This can take a while)", which stops with "ERROR: eFa4 failed to install"
A manual "yum -y install eFa" ends with
Error:
Problem: package eFa-1:4.0.3-2.eFa.el8.noarch requires postfix_eFa >= 3.4.8-1, but none of the providers can be installed
- conflicting requests
- nothing provides libmysqlclient.so.21()(64bit) needed by postfix_eFa-2:3.4.8-1.eFa.el8.x86_64
- nothing provides libmysqlclient.so.21(libmysqlclient_21.0)(64bit) needed by postfix_eFa-2:3.4.8-1.eFa.el8.x86_64
Obviously, there is some mysql/mariadb library missing, a "dnf install mariadb-server" did not do the trick...
Greets,
Stefan

Taking a look. Did you install from the CentOS 8 distribution, or is this a Cloud-based instance, and if so, which provider?

Unable to reproduce using CentOS-8.2.2004-x86_64-minimal.iso on KVM.
Will need more details to continue troubleshooting.

Hi Shawn,
Thank you for taking the time to look into this.
The system is a VPS from a big german provider, Strato, tt's an OpenVZ instance
Regarding the system, as customer you cannot install the system yourself at all, like a "cloud instance", you hit the button and then there is your system.
I hope this helps.
Regards,
Stefan

Re: CentOS 8 installation error - libmysqlclient.so.21
It appears that Strato does not do business with US-based customers. I am unable to establish a VPS with them for testing since I do not have an EU-based address.
We will need to troubleshoot this together.
First, please share with me the contents of /etc/centos-release

Hi Shawn,
Again, thank you.
I'd suggest to give you direct access to mentioned system (a PM with credential will follow) -> makes your and my life easier!
I am hitting the "reinstall" button for that instance now, so should be "Strato vanilla CentOS 8" in roughly 20 minutes.
Since that system is non-productive now and will be "reset" after debugging, please feel free to mess around like you wish.
Greets,
Stefan
