Open Relay

Post by rpw »

OK, Things are going better as I'm no longer being seen as a spam source (long story) short answer was smtp banner and reverse DNS issues.

New problem. When using mx-toolbox it's saying I'm a possible open relay. Initially it indicated I wasn't but I wasn't passing any emails either. Fixed the email issue under Webmin - Postfix-General options changing local networks from 127.0.0.1 to all attached networks. After that change is when mx-toolbox started reporting as an open relay.

Should I have changed this or should I have left it alone and either added the network address or just the upstream source (firewall) address?

You allowed all traffic from all hosts so yes you created an open relay.

Use EFA-Configure (login with ssh) and use the mail settings option to add your domains (http://efa-project.org/documentation/po ... l-domains/)
Version eFa 4.x now available!
