Backup MX

Post by pebu »

Hi,

I have an extra mailserver that is able to store and relay mail to the EFA 'main' server in case this server is not responding for whatever reason (reboot, maintenance, ...).
How can I add this extra mailserver to some sort of a backup-MX list so SPF and other host based checks are not performed, but standard virus/spam checks still are?

Thanks for the help.

it should be possible to create a whitelist, but I have not tested this in the way you want to use it..

http://www.webstershome.co.uk/2014/04/0 ... filtering/

see this page and scroll a bit down to the lines:
Now everything is install I need to tell postfix to use it. Since i use Webmin i just navigate to “servers”, “Posfix Mail server” then click “Edit Config Files” or manually edit “/etc/postfix/main.cf”
Implement the changes from that point on (note be carefull to not just copy paste his smtpd_recipient_restrictions line.. but modify yours..)
Version eFa 4.x now available!
