Hi,
My EFA server is connected with a MS Exchange 2013 server between a ipsec tunnel. The EFA server is an edge server.
Sometime,My internet connection goes down(Exchange side only) and i would like to know if the EFA server keeps all the mails and it will send them after the connection is restored?
Thank you,
how long does EFA keep the mail when the mail server is down.
Re: how long does EFA keep the mail when the mail server is down.
That behaviour is controlled entirely by postfix. See http://www.postfix.org/postconf.5.html for a list of the configuration options.
Specifically, look for maximal_queue_lifetime and read up on that parameter.
By default, postfix will keep retrying message delivery for 5 days before giving up. Your configuration may be difference, so check your /etc/postfix/main.cf and see how it is configured for your system.

in my setup this setting in main.cf is untouched but very different from the default. it's set to 8h only, this could be rather short in some setups. U better double check this (u need to restart postfix after changing this setting)

thank you for your help!
I changed the value from 6h to 5d in my postfix config.
it should be enough.
