Today I noticed on mailwatch that one of my users got a valid email attachment which was blocked due to a funky file name. There was no way for me to recover it and I had to ask the user to ask his sender to resend the attachment.. Not good!
I need the ability to release to the user such cases. Yes, I know I can modify the file name rules but it does not guarantee that another file name combination won’t give me the same headache again..
I tried to modify the following mailscanner.conf yet the test email (file) is not created anywhere in /var/spooler/MailScanner/* dirs.
Quarantine Whole Message = yes
Quarantine Whole Messages As Queue Files = yes
...service MailScanner restart
