Good afternoon.
After a series of upgrades, our EFA install is not passing messages out of the incoming queue. in the /var/log/messages file, I have a repeating series of errors:
Oct 9 22:29:22 gateway MailScanner: Process did not exit cleanly, returned 25 with signal 0
Oct 9 22:29:24 gateway MailScanner: Process did not exit cleanly, returned 25 with signal 0
Oct 9 22:29:26 gateway MailScanner: Process did not exit cleanly, returned 25 with signal 0
Oct 9 22:29:28 gateway MailScanner: Process did not exit cleanly, returned 25 with signal 0
Oct 9 22:29:31 gateway MailScanner: Process did not exit cleanly, returned 25 with signal 0
Oct 9 22:29:33 gateway MailScanner: Process did not exit cleanly, returned 25 with signal 0
Oct 9 22:29:36 gateway MailScanner: Process did not exit cleanly, returned 25 with signal 0
Oct 9 22:29:38 gateway MailScanner: Process did not exit cleanly, returned 25 with signal 0
Oct 9 22:29:40 gateway MailScanner: Process did not exit cleanly, returned 25 with signal 0
Etc etc...
When I run the MailScanner Lint I see an error that I believe is related:
Connected to Processing Attempts Database 0.00081
Created Processing Attempts Database successfully 0.00042
There are messages in the Processing Attempts Database 0.00014
Preparing SQL statements for processing-messages database failed! at /usr/sbin/MailScanner line 1797
I have run the MariaDB Recovery and that has not resolved the error.
Any ideas?

Your processing attempts database is probably corrupt.
Delete it and restart MailScanner.
You can find here:
/var/spool/MailScanner/incoming/Processing.db
