Re: Multiple VM's in a cluster or more CPU and RAM on 1 VM
Not the answer you will be looking for: 'it depends' :ugeek: Do you intend to run the three VM's on 1 physical node? if so then you would be better off using one big VM and configure the mailscanner children as needed (needs some playing around to find the right amount in your case). Also the load o...

Most likely memory issues,
What do you run?, VMware, Hyper-V or physical host?
If you run VMware or Hyper-V try to increase the memory.

Re: Greylisting - check against a higher subnet class?
I never played with it, but it is possible to allow the subnets. see the file /etc/sqlgrey/sqlgrey.conf By default it is set to smart, if you set it to classc the subnet is allowed after one host within the subnet is validated. The 'smart' option is default but it hardly seems to work correctly for ...

Re: Place inbound mail in hold queue
There is no real hold item, as long as the system can reach your mailserver it will try to deliver the mail. So easy work around that I use sometimes when I do maintenance on the mailserver is blocking the access to the mailserver, this way EFA stores the mail and will try to deliver when you allow ...

Re: Update-Behaviour
It should be, I run a few systems on bare hardware and did a number of kernel upgrades without issue.
As you run it on bare hardware and/or in KVM I assume you have enough knowledge to fix possible issues.
Except VMware tools there are no items in EFA that require an specific kernel version.

Re: Initial WEb login - password not working?
You have entered the username and the password during the initial setup yourself. these user/pass combination should work just fine. Don't make the mistake of using admin/root as the login account, you entered the username yourself during initial setup. (see also https://efa-project.org/wiki/Initial...

Re: quarantine
Like pdwalker mentioned in your case MCP could work. For a commercial version there is an easy answer: No. There is not intend to create an payed version, sure we welcome company's to help other users (even if they want to pay for it) but E.F.A. itself will alway's be free in all way's. We use money...

As a long answer, why not just deny external mails to all@ on your mailserver?

Re: Mailscanner double filename extension
Okay,
lets create a list to try to identify them all:
- .exe
- .com
- .scr
- .vbs
- .bat
- .pif
- .msi
- .hta
- .vb
- .ws
- .wsf
- .ps1
I am sure i'm missing some here

Re: minor issue in default MailScanner.conf - "Notify Senders = no" multiple times
Ah found it. the build from 3.0.0.8 had a search and replace typo.. Can you post the complete "Notifications back to the senders of blocked messages" section that you now see? The section should be like below, all sections that have "Notify Senders " are messed up in your setup I ...

Re: minor issue in default MailScanner.conf - "Notify Senders = no" multiple times
Hmm I just checked but all my systems look fine.
When you deployed the VM, from which version did you started (3.0.0.8 ?) and did you use the VMware or the Hyper-V version?
Maybe there is a bug in one of the versions but I have not found it yet

Re: Mailscanner double filename extension
It might be worth a little discussion. the original intend of the double filename check from the mailscanner devs is to block off files like: - file.zip.exe - file.zip.com - file.zip.scr - file.docx.exe etc.. This rule causes some problems for users, as the default also hits on items like: - file.v0...

Re: Domain Name setup help
As it states just the domainname.
so if your machine is going to be named 'efa01.mydomain.com'
Then the hostname = ef01 and the domainname = mydomain.com

As mentioned, there is no need to allow this and it is not supported in E.F.A.
it is old, unused, and an overall bad practice.

Re: Wrong link in Message Quarantine Report
See the file /etc/sysconfig/network
it should state a line:
if your domain.com is missing there, add it and reboot
it should state a line:
Code: Select all
HOSTNAME = efa.domain.com
