i have experienced this on both the CentOS-buildscript and the .vhd in Hyper-V (but appears to be absent in vmware)
when i started unbound and re-ran EFA-Init, the confguration of the new EFA finally worked.

all the possible toggle menus
sometimes i find the toggle menus confusing, i find myself rereading them a few times trying to figure out if i am about to disable or enable and wondering again what is my current state. would it be possible for a toggle to clearly display the current state the the possible change options?

Re: error learning ham and releasing mails
it was the latest .ovf install.
and speaking of, is there a command that we can use to display the platform (build, ovf, vhd, etc) to help identify for troubleshooting reasons? would that ever be relevant?

Initial Setup Script
i would like to see a script option to that says what the current accepted mail size is, with the option to raise or lower (or even set to 0, as the case of one of my customers). maybe it could show both the MailScanner Max size as well as the postfix max size?

Re: Recursive DNS and associated risks?
well... unless EFA DoS, or poisons its own cache... [root@rpl-emx01 ~]# netstat -tln|grep :53 tcp 0 0 127.0.0.1:53 0.0.0.0:* LISTEN IPtables comes preconfigured to not allow anything but SSH, HTTP/S, Webmin, and SMTP. DNS doesnt service anything but EFA's only mail transport activities.

i am checking from the CentOS server i built, to the OVF templace of the new 3.0.1.3 release.
to remove the Sigs, do you just delete the files in /var/lib/clamav? i not convinced this is a clamav issue, it appears to be related to html content in the email.

Re: Quarantine Filtering
another customer request, along the same topic, would be to be able to check-box and process/release multiple quarantines emailed simultaneously. i tried the filter you showed me, and it works, but i can see that being kind of cumbersome for a non-technical user. if there was a flip-switch they coul...

Quarantine Filtering
i have customers who are settling in to EFA, and when searching for quarantine'd spams, they request that it would sure be helpful to filter out all the non-spam emails, or to even further be able to search by sender or subject topic or really text from any field of the email. i hope this one can ge...

Re: Current EFA 3.0.1.1, Upgrade to 3.0.1.2/3 failing
i noticed the /etc/yum.conf has some nonstandard restrictions, "kernel*" being included on there. is the upgrade script calling yum without ignoring the exceptions?
try this:
yum check-update --disableexcludes=all

Re: Content Checks: Detected and have disarmed...
OK. should i delete the sansecurity file or just relocate it for a while? done, i bumped it from 6 to 8 process, and from 4 to 8GB of memory. i hope this doesnt fix it... as i have client machines that need to run on just 2 processors, in come cases (i might be able to upgrade it to 4, but this woul...

Re: Content Checks: Detected and have disarmed...
welp, i was hopeful, but so far no joy. BTW, maybe it matters or not, i am running on CentOS (vmware) using the build script. after 24 hours after i made the limits.conf change, i got another "eaten" message. [root@dlp-upmx01 ~]# cat /var/log/maillog|grep KILLED Sep 6 18:35:10 dlp-upmx01 M...

EFA Monitor ALERT emails

would this be possible to add in a future release?

Hi All! Ive been working with mail delivery since 2008ish. started with hand-rolled spamassassin servers running with sendmail, graduated up to handrolled MailScanner/postfix/clamav/spamassassin, and thought that was great. MailScanner really took it to another level. then discovered Baruwa about 2 ...
