I would use a letsencrypt certificate. Check here: viewtopic.php?f=15&t=2204
official but free certificate and won't expire with the cron.

Re: auto rejecting IP's who try to send to non existent user too often
Well, I turned it off this morning, because I saw a few legit mails being rejected in the logs. I think the mailservers from big ISP's like gmail and facebook are rejected very fast, because they are big spammers. But that also rejects legit mail from them.

root password for mysql
Hi,
I want to import the black and whitelists from my old server (baruwa) by using webmins mysql module. However, it needs the root password. I tried the 2 obvious passwords, but they are not working. What is the root passwd for mysql?
Thanks,
Roger

auto rejecting IP's who try to send to non existent user too often
Can I have your thoughts about this. My EFA will be working as a gateway for several domains. Some of these domains are old and are getting lots of spam. When I was adding some more DNSBL's and activating recipient verification I saw a few IP addresses trying to send mail to several non existing ema...

Re: recipient address verification
Never mind,
There was something wrong with my installation. I cleared the server and used the VMDK copy and now everything works as expected. I have recipient verification and extra DNSBL's running.

recipient address verification
Just to be sure, enabling recipient address verification should be: add: "reject_unverified_recipient" to the "smtpd_recipient_restrictions =" string and add: unverified_recipient_reject_reason = Address lookup failure (not really neccesary) to main.cf That's should be all. Howev...

Re: all mail just disappears
Well,
Darky found out it has something to do with the sqlgrey program. After disabling sqlgrey everything started working. Very strange problem, but for now it works.
Thanks very much Darky!

Re: all mail just disappears
Strange thing is that I only get a connection in the logs, where I get complete Postfix and mailscanner logs from locally send email.

Re: all mail just disappears
Yes,
There is a pfsense in front of the network. The server is 1:1 natted.
I'll check if I can find the setting.
Thanks,
Roger
Edit: No, it seems to be possible with pfsense but it's not enabled.

Re: all mail just disappears
Yes there is. Found some more however. If I send from a local server (relayed by network) within 192.168.0 network I get after data: 354 End data with <CR><LF>.<CR><LF> .... 250 2.0.0. Ok: queued as 98DA060618 And the mail is completely checked and appears in Mailwatch. (however stopped as spam whic...

How do I configure EFA to be a gateway
Hi there, I am trying to install EFA as a gateway for about 20 domains. Most of the mail goes to a server on the same network but some is forwarded to external servers. I am now using a Baruwa server for this which works great, but is getting old. The gateway is on a local network and all traffic is...

Re: all mail just disappears
I found out that if I stop MailScanner it is automatically restarted and the monitoring mail is in mailwatch and also sent to the postmaster account (externally). Also when I try to send an email, the only evidence I can find is the time changed on the /var/spool/postfix/incoming directory.

all mail just disappears
I have a vps build on the vmdk image of the latest version. Everything seems to be working fine. When I send a message using telnet, postfix says "queued for delivery". However after that nothing happens, the mail just disappears. The maillog just mentioned the connection en after a while ...

Hi all
Hi,
I am Woger and following this project/forum for a while now. But now I have also a server running EFA. It will replace a postfix-dovecot-baruwa spam/virus gateway I am running now.
I want to thank the maintainers of this excellent set of tools
