Re: Spam Action
I believe I understand what you are wanting to do. Basically forward the spam not delivered messages to spam@mydomain.com regardless of origin. Correct? Why not just forward the spam message itself instead of the "spam not delivered" message? All the "spam not delivered" message ...

Re: Next Major release OS version
I've been following postfix and there seems to be a real disconnect between the postfix devs and debian maintainers. The postfix devs warn against using the debian packaged version of postfix due to implementation on part of the debian packagers. However, MailScanner, thanks to Jerry Benton's hard w...

Re: How to reject mail from blacklisted addresses
You would most likely need to accomplish this using the MTA (postfix). MailScanner cannot do this because it is not an MTA.

Re: Update-Behaviour
Adding this to yum.conf will cause problems down the road when these packages are actually targeted for update.
Also, kernel is excluded because many EFA users run on VMware, and vmware-tools or open-vmtools must be recompiled after every kernel update.

By default EFA does not require authentication if Server 1 is added as an outbound relay host.

But efa does a bit more than just mailscanner so those recommendations should not be followed to the letter.

If you run yum update...here's the safer method...
Auto updates should leave main.cf intact as it uses the above yum update as well.
Code: Select all
yum --exclude="kernel* mysql* postfix* mailscanner* clamav* clamd*" update

Re: Improving my EFA Performance
I am curious toddh. If you halt mail flow to your appliance, does your CPU trend down to idle? Or does it still show a high load (especially MailScanner) Even with the amount of mail you are processing, I agree with pdwalker that something may be amiss. Also, I would be particularly interested in wh...

Chiming in.... I think as long as the "hood is open," so to speak, people will customize EFA in many way that we cannot anticipate. Even with a comprehensive configuration tool, it is still going to happen...I guess we could always say "you are on your own" if we go this route an...
