Re: Database issue not assigning token.

ok, so what i can see is there is a delete query running on the mtalog table that's taking a long time to complete. And because that query locks the table, everything else stalls. So, why is there a delete query, and why is it taking so long? I'll need to check the mailwatch code to see if I can fig...

Re: Update Postfix

Most people here just want an appliance that "just works". When you start messing with the system and installing your own custom software, then you run the risk of creating conflicts that make it very difficult to upgrade the system. If you're comfortable with these kinds of things, then go for it. ...

Re: Blacklist/Whitelist not working

Looks like I am getting things mixed up. Anyway, according to my previous test, the whitelisting/blacklisting worked just fine. Can you add a valid external email address to your blacklist and test it yourself like I did? Then repeat it for the whitelist in the manner similar to what I did? Accordin...

Re: Blacklist/Whitelist not working

How do you know it's not using them? Try this: cd /var/spool/MailScanner grep -r X-Greylist: *|less I get a lot of entries like this: quarantine/20180914/nonspam/A2B9B182AA3.A9CDD:X-Greylist: whitelisted by SQLgrey-1.8.0 quarantine/20180914/nonspam/17388182A9B.ADAAB:X-Greylist: whitelisted by SQLgre...

Re: Blacklist/Whitelist not working

I'd look in your mail log to see if you can see anything interesting. For example, the following command shows me that mailwatch frequently updates the black and white list entries: grep " MailWatch: Read " /var/log/maillog| tail -100 | vim - I assume it's pulling from the database. Maybe you can se...

Re: SQLGrey and Senders with Multiple IPs

Yeah, so here is how it looks on my system [root@efa MailScanner]# grep -r "X-Greylist: whitelisted" * | wc -l 36543 [root@efa MailScanner]# grep -r "X-Greylist: delayed" * | wc -l 35 That's roughly a little less than 0.1% of all mail received in the last 60 days got greylisted, delayed and then del...

Re: Monitor Only

No, I think there is a better way: Look for "Spam Actions" in your /etc/MailScanner/MailScanner.conf configuration file: Specifically, look for: Spam Actions = High Scoring Spam Actions = Non Spam Actions = One thing you will want to to ensure is that all these settings include the "deliver" options...

Re: Blacklist/Whitelist not working

Ok, I just did a test on my system First, I connected to the mysql database and queried my blacklist table: SELECT * FROM mailscanner.blacklist; then, I entered in 1 new blacklist entry: insert into mailscanner.blacklist (to_address, to_domain, from_address) values ('pdwalker@internaldomain.com', 'i...

Re: Blacklist/Whitelist not working

So, you’re fiddling with the database by hand.

It would help greatly if you could be specific as to what you did to what tables. E.g. imported this record into that table and the result looks like...

Re: Database issue not assigning token.

What do you mean, “the processlist in MySQL appears to be hung up”?

Can you run the command “mysqladmin processlist”?

I’ll look through the logs shortly to see what you’ve sent.

Re: SQLGrey and Senders with Multiple IPs

Huh. I never noticed that header before. I’ll have a look for it on my system and see what I’m averaging. Currently, I don’t notice any delays because my system has been running for a while and it knows the common senders. I did notice it in the beginning when the system didn’t. How long has your sy...

Re: One EFA to multiple backend mail servers

huh?

Just specify the domain and the back end in the transport file

Code: Select all

mydomain1 smtp:[10.1.1.1]
mydomain2 smtp:[192.168.1.1]
etc...

You can do this through the efa configuration menu, or by hand.

Re: Lots and lots of emails in queue

What do your log files say? Surely there is a reason given for the double bounces.

Dumb question, but I need to ask: after changing the configuration, did you restart postfix/mailscanner?

Re: EFA as a gateway with multiple domains

How many domains are you talking about here? The postfix transport file has the transport rules for all domains, incoming and outgoing. If I were to put a wildcard rule to represent all the domains I host, then I'd end up with a mail loop. So, if I really needed to support a wildcard domain, I guess...

Re: Database issue not assigning token.

So, you are clearly having some kind of database problem. What that means exactly, I don't know. You'll have to investigate your system to find out what is happening. The connection failed error message is a symptom. Now you need to find the root cause. Can you share your mysql configuration files? ...

Re: Regex, attachments and Spam

Also, I'd still like to see a full spam report.

I also use the same block lists (with my own recursing DNS on EFA) and I don't get any problem from the mailing lists that come in.

Re: Long text in top virus

I've seen that under several circumstances where long text is in the headers or elsewhere. My bad, I've never bothered to report it before. The solution should be a generic one. If someone opens a bug report in mailwatch before me, could you post the link here? Otherwise, I'll do it the next time I ...

Re: No longer processing spam

Thanks for posting your solution. That may save someone else in the future. Just a general bit of advice - when you make any change to your system, document it somewhere in detail. When you run into trouble, you can walk backwards through your changes and perhaps find the root cause of your problem....

Re: mailscanner/rep_message_listing.php Issues Since Update

"&&" means run the second command only if the first command runs successfully. e.g. "ls && cd" would run a directory listing command (has that command ever failed?) and then changes you back to your home directory. if you're getting a "Database connection failed" error, then you have a problem with ...

Re: web interface unreachable 2-3 times a day

can you run "top" while the web interface is non responsive? I've previously seen that when I was training the bayes classifier with spam, the web interface would be completely unresponsive until it was finished. Is your mysql instance busy? what does "iostat 1" show you during those non responsive ...
