Re: EFA "Outbound" Mode
That would be great because the settings are so different in each case. I have found outbound so much more challenging to deal with lately and it is especially complicated in a gateway scenario where the message does not originate through the EFA server but something behind it (which is my case ...

EFA "Outbound" Mode
One thing I thought would be really nice would be if EFA supported an "Outbound" configuration where it walked the user through setting up the device for outbound scanning, outbound spam filtering, setting up DKIM (including giving the txt record informtion to the user), etc..
Outbound ...

Re: Clustering EFA Servers
I setup a clustering-like solution using a policy service and some basic scripting. Basically every node is standalone and the policy service works using a central control source (which can also be clustered or distributed). In my case I have 2 policy checks... 1 at rcpt and 1 at end-of-message. The ...

Shawn it would be pretty cool if this was installed as part of EFA and we could just configure the services we wanted to use underneath it.... what do you think?

Re: RBLDNSD
Hi all... I figured out how to get this working and set it up with invaluement (a paid service). Here are the instructions but I hid the URLs for the service since they give them to you when you sign up.
These instructions would also work for other services like UCEProtect, Lashback, and other ...

Re: RBLDNSD
It appears you can use "yum install rbldnsd" and most of the documentation I have found is on RBL provider sites thus far. I have also reached out to Rob Mcewen at invaluement and asked for a trial account and he said he will be sending me some instructions. I guess I can post them here once they ...

Re: RBLDNSD
Ok... I did some more poking and see we are using unbound (I got confused because I saw it listen when I did a netstat -tulpn | grep :53 and saw "unbound" so I thought it meant no process was bound to the port).
The next question is whether it will let me install rdnsbld on to of it. Does anybody ...

Re: RBLDNSD
It seems as though I will need to understand a bit more about the way DNS works in EFA when recursion is turned on. RBLDNSD requires a local DNS server to be running. Is EFA running one? I don't see any processes for dnsmasq or bind or anything that would suggest there is a local DNS server or cache ...

Re: Multiple VM's in a cluster or more CPU and RAM on 1 VM
Wow you weren't kidding on heavy... 20 cores + 512GB Ram and 8 SSDs... that is some serious muscle.
Why do you need 8TB for an EFA server though? That seems excessive if you are using it as a gateway server.

Re: Multiple VM's in a cluster or more CPU and RAM on 1 VM
So what are the specs of the physical hardware you use to achieve the 2mil+ throughput?
Not the answer you will be looking for:
'it depends' :ugeek:
Do you intend to run the three VM's on 1 physical node? if so then you would be better off using one big VM and configure the mailscanner ...

Multiple VM's in a cluster or more CPU and RAM on 1 VM
Hi guys... I am just curious which do you think is more advantageous... running 1 machine with 18GB RAM and 6 VCPUs or 3 VMs with 6GB Ram and 2 VCPUs?
I am struggling with this as I am scaling up because in my current model I get pretty decent performance from the 6GB RAM 2 VCPU setup (about 150 ...

Re: RBLDNSD
Hey Shawn... I know I can add RBL entries to use DNS blocklists... but I was asking about whether there was anything in EFA to support a local DNSBL service where you rsync the RBLDNSD lists from services like Lashback or UCEProtect or any other that supply their lists so you can download them and ...

Does the EFA server have any mechanism for support RBLDNSD already in it if I want to use the rsync lists? I guess I am wondering if there is any already in the distribution that makes it possible to incorporate services like UCEProtect or Lashback any of the other providers that have rsync-based ...

Clamd hanging or stopping unexpectedly

Just a quick question... I noticed the announcement about 3.0.0.6 but I noticed on the download page the images are all 3.0.0.5... is there a reason for this? Shouldn't these be updated?
