For service monitorimg I'd suggest monit.
It Dann simple and has a embedded web interface that could be proxed on apache.

Re: permssions issue with freshclam and updates
Shawn Could you disable the do-it-yourself EFA clamav package and use the epel one ?
Maybe in a future version ?
In this way you have everytime the new version of clamav.

Re: Multiple Virus Scanner
Yes i know it's a mailscanner specific function.
I think it's useless to scan a file TWICE if the first one find a virus and thus put the file in quarantine (or block it).
I've tried to find something on the net but not sure i've specified the correct search words (my english is poorly).
Thx

Re: Next Major release OS version
And just to make another point in favor of centos in regards to systemd (shit) support:
Redhat develops systemd, so the integration will be more and more stable on centos rather than on debian.

Re: Next Major release OS version
My opinion is that debian these days is going too fast . Average user of EFA does not care about OS... He see all the EFA stuff as a "black box". So using centos gives him (ande dev too) more or less 6/7 years of "peace of mind". By using debian you are forced to change OS (and r...

Re: Next Major release OS version
Well... What are your doubts in regards to centos 7? If is for systemd ...you know ..debian jesse will switch to it. I think for a project like efa the lts (long term support) for the os is a must because reimplement all on another os is too much overkill. Debian in these days is not too much orient...

Mail Clients are configured in the same way.
Is there a way to debug at low level (mailscanner level) the append of the signature ?
thx

Not always the Outbound Signature is added.
Hi I'm facing the following issue in 3.0.6 (CustomAction.pm version: Version 20140309) 1) mail sended by simple perl script or by telnetting on smtp port is correctly delivered with signature appended 2) mail sended via mail client like thunderbird is delivered without signature. I've tried the cust...

so I think we should deal with it.

Yes your script could be very useful.
I've tried to use the perl script to fetch rcpts from active dir without luck.

Re: is it safe to update CentOS packages?
An example of what could be wrong: postfix upgrade which change the spool dir permission (revert back to postfix user).
In this case the system could not process mail.
If you know how postfix and mailscanner works it's easy: just chmod&chown the right directory.

Re: is it safe to update CentOS packages?
If you know where to put hands if something goes wrong: yes it's safe.
Otherwise wait the official updates that upgrade (aka: run yum update) the underlying os too.

Re: yum update - short question
Short answer: If you know where to put your hands if something goes wrong.. YES. Generally speaking the only 2 problems i had were: 1) upgrading postfix cause change of spool dir permissions 2) upgrading clamav from one of the many alternative repos available cause the clamd compiled by EFA team to ...
