Re: spf record for forum notifications

lets see if it works better now, I configured the forum to send using smtp instead of php mail.
it is now correctly sending messages from @efa-project.org instead of @forum.efa-project.org (which is the vhost name..)

Re: EFA on Hetzner cloud unreachable

Yep, hetzner cloud has a auto ip config in the image they use.

(Note that if you use an custom ISO image for re-installation that you can use the IP configuration :))

Re: possible efa spoof

Yup, check the mail header it should give you the path the mail has taken to reach the client mailbox and go from there to figure out how the mail reached the clients inbox. (maybe you missed it in eFa or maybe it was malware directly from client to client..)

Re: I can't get eFa worked between backend mail server and relay.

So you only want to use eFa for outbound filtering but it must be send to a different relay host? (no incoming traffic?) Than the only thing you should do is configure your outbound mail relay and grant your mailserver relay access nothing more.. in eFa-Configure option 7 (Mail Settings) -> option 1...

Re: reach https://mirrors.efa-project.orgproblems with

We have monitoring on it from around the world and all say it is active so, must be something local/ISP related.

Try again later, and if it still doesn't work you might try to change the scripts and replace it with dl.efa-project.org

Re: Enhance search on this forum

I also just use google search or duckduck when needed, we allow full crawling from bots. Don't want to incorporate google search on the site because of all the 'extra' cookies and loading of data from 3th party websites. (when you add that we will also need to have a cookie notification because non-...

Re: Forward to email

That is a mailserver function and not something that is in eFa, as all mail is passed through the system on to the receiving mail server.

(As a workaround can't you use a external contact in a distribution group :?: )

Re: Next Major release OS version

We are, currently development is slow because of limited time, but also because of all the things we want to make work in a new version..

Maybe we should just start with a initial release on centos 8 and add features later on so we have more releases..

Re: below the Minimum system requirements

2GB mem will probably not be enough, but it all depends on how many mails are being processed. I also have a really small test setup running that has maybe 50 mails to process on a day and it currently uses 2.3GB of memory (system has 4 GB) and has 8GB of storage used. Mainly clamav and mailscanner ...

eFa Project downtime

All, Just a heads up, we had a storage outage causing corruption on all virtual machine's we run on sunday 18th of November. We had to restore from backups, so it might be that some posts have lost and/or that there are still some items not fully functional. Everything is redundant but because of ha...

Try again, created a quick workaround to fix this for now.

it doesn't seem to affect the safe sites list so this should fix it for now, thanks for reporting :)

Re: build using kickstarter fails

My mistake, removed the mirror as mirror.centos.org is much faster than our own servers nowdays (when we started with the testing our mirror was next to our dev environment and thus faster for us to start testing..) changed it now, http://dl.efa-project.org/build/3/ks.cfg now points to a working mir...

Re: Using EFA as MX1 and MX2

Keep in mind that in some cases your 'backup' MX might even get a higher load than your primary. We sometimes see domains that receive 80% of their spam on the secondary MX. Some tricks spammers sometimes use is to send mail only to the secondary MX as some domains just have a 'relay' for the second...

Yea it is a trade off, or we make it userfriendly for new users (thus allow them to post everywhere after registering) or deny that and they might giveup because the admins need to approve all accounts first.. (which is anoying at best). I don't really like to limit the forums, as this also means th...

Re: Upgrade 3.0.1.9 - Not enough diskspace

We need about 3 times the size of your mysql DB so you probably need to increase the disk size. See: https://forum.efa-project.org/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=516 For a quick check you could run: sudo echo "Free Space: $(df -P /var | awk '{print $4}' | grep [0-9])" sudo echo "Mysql Size:...

Re: EFA 3.0.1.9 Performance Issues

Do you have greylisting enabled?

if so than 5 min is about normal, and up until the DB has rechecked the hosts sending mail the flow should be normal again.
