OK, next problem with no solution so far

On Efa 3 i could release messages marked as "spam" with sendmail (even it was set to false)
Blocked attachments are sent as new mail from "no-reply@"

On Efa 4 both messages, spam and blocked attachment are released as new mail

If i set sendmail on "true" i ...

Yes and no
For some senders, it only shows 3 digits
For other senders it show all 4 of it

I face the same problem at the moment.
If i release a blocked mail without attachment i would love to send it "as is", without tempering the sender
For a mail with blocked attachment it would be perfect, to send the whole message WITH attachment again

It looks like sendmail can not handle it ...

i made the following changes:

# Deny old .doc files
deny \.doc$ Old .doc file -


If we receive a mail with a .doc attachment, the receiver will get the text of the mail but noch the .doc itself.

on older Efa i had 6 MailScanner childs and 8 postfix procs
On the new eFa i have 8 Mailscanner childs but only 1 postfix proc

How can i increase this value?
Or is it a bug only showing 1 instead of 10 procs?

Just a small note with the first command

Instead of
sudo rm /etc/yum.repos.d/eFa4- T esting.repo

I had to use
sudo rm /etc/yum.repos.d/eFa4- t esting.repo

Otherwise i ...

So now eFa 4 is just released

i edit /etc/MailScanner/filename.rules.conf by adding


# Deny old .doc files

This dont block my test with an attached .doc file

I wanted to restart the MailScanner service, but

We use ssh (putty) and a ftp program (WinSCP) for this

Connect to server with putty
cd /var/spool/MailScanner/quarantine/<YYMMDD>/<MESSAGEID>/message

copy the files you need to your home directory

cp *.doc /home/username
chown username /home/username/*.doc

Open WinSCP and connect to server ...
