Re: EFA updates could be broken....
I have added the cockpit package to my server. While RedHat started the project, 45 Drives (located in Nova Scotia, Canada) has updated the project. This company is one of the Rocky Linux early backers as well. For me it bridge the gap as it has been a while since I have used the OSes similar to the...

Re: EFA updates could be broken....
It has taken a while but it seems that solution was as simple as typing
dnf remove centos-stream-release-8.6-1.el8.noarc
There seems to be some items left over when the OS transition from the older centos to the rocky linux.
My system seems better as it went from Rocky linux 8.7 to 8.9.

have you thought about Oracle Linux 9? It seems another project (Security onion) decided towards Oracle Linux 9 rather than using Rocky/Alma, etc.
Just curious in our thoughts.....

EFA updates could be broken....
I am using eFa-4.0.4 I have been noticing the system is wanting to do a package check/update. Today I performed such a check using option 13. there were 184 items that were potential updates. I am saying potential because the following message appears: Running transaction check Transaction check suc...

Recent error within efa
Normally I am not watching the logs within this eFa solution closely, but I had to unblock a domain for SMTP. As I was testing to make sure the domain can send email, I noticed the following error: Jul 11 19:05:28 mx MailScanner[724120]: Unable to initialise database connection: Access denied for us...

Recent Update has error
I was curious to see how eFA would be working with option "13) Update Now". To get right to the detail, here is the final status: Error: Transaction test error: file /etc/centos-release from install of rocky-release-8.8-1.8.el8.noarch conflicts with file from package centos-stream-release-...

Future of eFa on RedHat-like systems
With the state of Red Hat putting its source behind a paywall and RockyLinux/AlmaLinux having to next what is next, what will happen with the future of eFa? I am not asking abandon its current platforms for another Linux distro. My concern is regarding this application/solution’s future. Right now t...

Re: Upgrading EFA/Changing OS
As my base CentOS 8 instance was not able to get updates anymore, the rocky script prefers the system to be able to perform dnf update to work After doing a few google searches, I found this web link ( https://haydenjames.io/fix-error-failed-to-download-metadata-for-repo-appstream-centos-8/ ). It he...

As I am running the script, I am seeing this message: Invalid configuration value: failovermethod=priority in /etc/yum.repos.d/eFa4.repo; Configuration: OptionBinding with id "failovermethod" does not exist Ultimately I got this message after the script completed: Running dnf update before...

Re: Upgrading EFA/Changing OS
Thank you for the reply -- sorry it took a couple weeks for me to respond on this thread.
I am appreciative of your post. As I have my system within a "hypervisor instance", I am backing up the virtual server and then make the changes per your suggestion.

Upgrading EFA/Changing OS
As I did ask in a past post about RockyLinux 8 vs 9, the answer was 8.
Is there a simple guide or anything posting to upgrade a EFA application from CentOS Linux 8 with eFa-4.0.4 to RockyLinux 8.x with eFa-4.0.4.
Thank you in advance,

Re: fly by error message...
what user are you logging into the instance? Do you have the file /etc/clamav-unofficial-sigs/user.conf on your system? There is an attempt to do a "grep" on the file within an if statement. If there is an error, I would suspect the file does not exist or is not available to the end user (...

I have been using this project for a number years. The appliance has 2 years worth of records which totals 182,000+ records. Recently as I perform searches using the criteria header contains, the web interface is timing out rather than showing the results. It has 2 cores and 12 GB RAM with lots of d...

Re: General Question with Whitelist
Thank you for the responses. I have 227 whitelist email addresses. A number of them are duplicates because a number of companies have a number of mail servers — and the greylist retry shows a different mail server. With my system the experience I am observing is that a number of the received emails ...

General Question with Whitelist

While I like this solution, I have been battling a problem regarding the TLDs that are sending spam. In the past the "blocklist" has done a great job blocking emails, but the last 60 days (and possible the last year) emails from the "bad TLDs" are being added to the whitelist by ...

Re: Whitelist email addresses added when marked by blacklist.
Thank you for the web link. :D My inquiry was to understand more on whitelist logic and how to configure the function to not have each mail received to be automatically added to the whitelist. I am deleting the entries manually via the web ui; 30 to 50 entries are deleted. For the most part, EFA is ...
