Disable CLAM/D?

Hello, What's the best way to disable clam (everything clam-related: clam/clamd/unofficial signature related)? What other steps can I take to reduce memory consumption? I need every bit of memory I can spare. I've tried various settings to limit clam hog behavior to no avail. It's still taking too m...

Re: Download EFA 3?

EFA 3 worked fine on the tiny 512MB for years 8-) Will give 4.x a shot based on your advice. I saw this link to limit clamav memory: https://betatim.github.io/posts/clamav-memory-usage/ Update: after some work, I noticed that even with a 1GB RAM, clamd is killing the disk and slowing everything. Wit...

Download EFA 3?

Hello,
I recently lost my 3.x VM and would like to rebuild it. How can I download it?

p.s. I tried 4.x but it's too resource-hungry for my 512MB cloud VM.

Re: Upgrade Centos 6 to 7 with EFA-3?

I think it would make sense to do a forklift upgrade on a stable and supported OS. Like Ubuntu LTS.
I hope there is a roadmap to move away from CentOS, now that RedHat treats it like a step child.

Re: Upgrade Centos 6 to 7 with EFA-3?

I also noticed that CentOS 8 is EOL by end of the year. What is the roadmap? Can EFA work on Ubuntu 20 LTS?

Upgrade Centos 6 to 7 with EFA-3?

Hello, Is it possible to upgrade from CentOS 6.1 to 7.x without breaking EFA? Background: I have EFA-3.0.2.6 running on end-of-life CentOS 6.1. The VM works just great with 2GB RAM (low traffic) and I don't want to upgrade to 4.x due to its high RAM/CPU requirements (limited Host VM resources). I al...

Re: No longer processing spam

Found the reason.
In the file header_check I remarked the hold line. I was not aware that this line is crucial to the whole mailscanner-related functionality.

Recommend adding a warning text in the file next to the above line not to modify/remark it.

Re: No longer processing spam

I know because I get email in my inbox..

No more spam filtering. Everything that's not filtered by postfix filters goes through. Mailwatch stopped showing new mail. I think it stopped working around the same time I 'yum update' some php related stuff.

Please help

No longer processing spam

Just noticed that since about a week ago the mail server stopped inspecting for spam. Mail flows to users but without the mailscanner functionality. Looking at mailwatch I do see that since a week ago it no longer registers new mail - either good or otherwise. Everything else looks normal. Mailscann...

How block host ip from a whole country?

Hello, I'm trying to block whole countries based on their host name dns resolution. Example: for Turkey: *.tr. To clarify, the host name is derived from a dns resolution, not from message headers. in main.cf I have: smtpd_client_restrictions = reject_unknown_reverse_client_hostname check_client_acce...

Re: mysql overloading system cpu/IO

Something here doesn't add up.
Other than the mailwatch web GUI functionality the VM is doing just fine with less than 0.9GB. Having to add 3 times that amount just for the mailwatch web gui seems unreasonable. I would argue that the system could benefit from mailwatch/mysql optimization..

Re: mysql overloading system cpu/IO

The most I have available is 2GB. I'll try it and post update. One note I'd like to keep in mind: The previous EFA VM was working fine with just 800mb ram, including mysql. Same hardware/Esx. Can't imagine that this VM needs 300%/400% more RAM. There is something else going on with mysql. Any though...

Re: mysql overloading system cpu/IO

The previous EFA (used to be called something else, can't recall) was also a VM that ran under the same hardware/Esxi for 3 years without an issue (also with mysql). I'm still trying to classify this one as it tuned out there was no class available for remarks like this one :o As you seem to be sur...

Re: mysql overloading system cpu/IO

As I mentioned:
1. I have an Exchange VM server running on that ESX and it's working just fine.
2. The EFA has been working fine for the first two months.

It is not the hardware nor the underline ESXi.

Re: mysql overloading system cpu/IO

Update: anything related to mysql just kills my cpu and I/O wait. For example clicking around in mailwatch will timeout. Rebooting the VM does not help. mysqld is the culprit (can be seen in top). mysql overloading system cpu/IO

The VM was working fine for the past couple of months. Then, starting Sunday, Jan 28th, I had to restart mysqld twice since the mysqld was running unusually and consistently high cpu and I/O (can be seen via top). To the point that incoming mails were stuck in the queue... Only after restarting mysq...

Hello, Today I noticed on mailwatch that one of my users got a valid email attachment which was blocked due to a funky file name. There was no way for me to recover it and I had to ask the user to ask his sender to resend the attachment.. Not good! I need the ability to release to the user such case...
