Re: HELP + URGENT: Need to requeue 2400 mails from quantine to be reprocessed
I had an mail storm coming in, filling up the incoming partition, new messages could not be placed in incoming and were moved to the quarantine, which is on the /var partition which has more space. So I needed to reprocess all these messages. found out sendmail -toi < message was my friend. See: htt...

HELP + URGENT: Need to requeue 2400 mails from quantine to be reprocessed
Hi there! Anyone knows how to requeue mails from the quarantine to be reprocssed? The mails are in subfolders like /var/spool/MailScanner/quarantine/20180306/4DAD720089.A3D0A which contains a file 'message'. I tried to use postdrop (postdrop < message and postdrop -r < message). I also tried copying...

Re: Script for operations on Black and White list tables
Indeed a good start! I my case I only have to modify the blacklist automated. Thanks!  # adding domain to mysql db mailscanner table blacklist MAILWATCHSQLPWD=`grep MAILWATCHSQLPWD /etc/EFA-Config | sed 's/.*://'` if [[ -z $MAILWATCHSQLPWD ]]; then echo "Unable to access SQL passwo...

Script for operations on Black and White list tables
Hola, I have automated a lot of stuff for allowing new users and departments on my platform. Is there a piece of script with which I can add or delete black and white list entries? Or should I create something myself with the mySQL credentials in the conf files? And are the tables straight forward? ...

Re: Deliver Cleaned Messages and/or Files
Hi, Yea, I know. But some users do get the stripped message (original attachment replaced by a neat warning message with the messageID) and some don't. No clue why its not always the same. Of course I want the cleaned message to be delivered always (with the replacement attachment). So, any idea why...

Hi All, Plz see below example. This inbound message is not delivered to the final recipient. I have no clue why. I got in mailscanner.conf: Deliver Disinfected Files = yes Still Deliver Silent Viruses = no Deliver Cleaned Messages = yes Anyone an idea? Grtz, Ronald [root@sys-mailgw12 ~]# cat /var/lo...

Shared database, to allow multiple EFA appliances sharing one truth for SQLGrey etc
Hola, I don't know if this is already in the wish list somewhere, but is it possible to have a shared MariaDB, which can serve multiple instances of the appliance? This, so we can have true HA with one truth for grey listing, black/whitelists, statistics, bayes, and so on. Would be super! Grtz, Ronald

3.0.1.8 fresh deployment
Hola,
is the only way of getting 3.0.1.8 is to deploy 3.0.1.5 and update from there?

Hi,
Ever fixed this? I have the exact same problem. But if I set deliver Silent Viruses then my users are getting the attachment, that should have been removed.
Kinda lost here,
Grtz

Block Office documents with Macro's and notify recipient, rulebased
Hi All, Anyone knows if it is possible to block all Office documents that contain macro's for recipients of *@domain1.com , while allowing this for users of *@domain2.com. Do I need to block/allow this in ClamAV or MailScanner or a combination? For now I used the /etc/MailScanner/rules/content.scann...

Re: DNSBL and stuff
Hi Wilbourne,
reject_unknown_client_hostname is different than reject_unlisted_sender ? It was my understanding that reject_unknown_client_hostname blocks all that has no DNS name mapping or PTR to go with that.
I ll have a look at scrollout, thanks!

Any info welcome, though I don't think it is very hard to add this to our existing mix. But if you can spare the master.cf and main.cf from that (or just the relevant portions), just post!

postscreen!
Hola,
What about setting up postscreen on the border instead of the postfix daemon? This will anyway make sure encryption is used and postscreen is specifically built to be on the border.
I could create a master.cf template I guess. And the main.cf to go with that.
Grtz,
Ronald

encrypt messages in quarantine
Hola, Can we encrypt the messages in quarantine with a private key only known to root and not by other 'junior' admins accessing the EFA to release messages? We have some guys that are doing some work, but I'd like them to only read the subject line and not the entire contents of the mail. Grtz, Ron...

Re: EFA => WFA?
Dunno, LXC is new to me! haha Docker is basically a host that is capable of spinning up docker containers. Containers you can create fairly easy. On your laptop you require virtual box to run Docker. I can also just upload a .vmdk with some stuff to an ftp location, so you can see what you think of ...

Hi Wilbourne, I checked some parameters: "With Postfix 2.0 snapshot releases, "reject_unlisted_recipient" is called "check_recipient_maps". Postfix 2.1 understands both forms." I use check_recipient_maps with an ldap lookup to my ad to see if a recipient exists in my do...

Yeah, well, for that purpose I use Mail Piler, really good product, also freeware. https://bitbucket.org/jsuto/piler or with services http://www.mailpiler.org/wiki/start Have a look, for me this fits the purpose extremely well. And good and free web filter appliances are not that many out there ... ...

Hola,
EFA works gr8, what about creating a Web Filter Appliance, based on squid/clamav/squidguard? I am currently working on a setup with all these and we might turn this one also into an appliance.
Just a thought!
Grtz,
Ronald

Guys! Thanks for all the info! Still got some reports from end users complaining about the ransomware plague that is upon us.
