Re: Help! Limited network access and Version 4

Hi,

Many thanks indeed for the prompt reply. I had got as far as walking through the init script and landing up on the commit one last night, but wasn't sure if I could just comment out the razor section. I will get that done now.
Cheers

Help! Limited network access and Version 4

Hi folks. been using EFA for years now. It has been great! Decided to build a new VM and setup the latest version. I am behind various components, i.e. no internet access - I have http/s proxy and access to a public DNS server but nothing else. I managed to get the older versions running OK and yes,...

Help - RDNS_NONE

Hi folks, Having a slight problem. When I setup EFA I added a configuration to stop every mail being marked rdns_none. Basically all our mail is handed over to us from one fixed internal server, however this server fails reverse lookup checks etc. To get round this, I added the delivering server as ...

Help! Link scanner not working

Folks, It seems that links where the description does not match the URL, is not being highlighted any more by EFA. I haven't changed anything so don't know why this is. I tested it by sending an email with a link to the BBC website, but with a different description, and nothing was added to the mail...

How does whitelist / blacklist work

Hi Folks, Curious about something. I have some whitelisted senders, however I am worried about something. If someone sent a targeted virus, by spoofing the sender address to something that they have found out is a legitimate contact, and this address was in my whitelist, would the mail pass through ...

Re: Quarantine Filtering

HI there, I'm not in front of my EFA at the moment, so I can't investigate all the options, however you can certainly achieve the 1st request to filter out the non spam simply, just by using the reports page. For example, say you want to review all the current day's SPAM in quarantine, but not see t...

Strange URI Blocked

Hey, I am getting the old classic URIBL_BLOCKED The query to URIBL was blocked. See http://wiki.apache.org/spamassassin/DnsBlocklists\#dnsbl-block for more information. I think it is because I am stuck in an environment where I cannot go direct to the internet (suits me - safer) and I am using a for...

Re: jar files in zip

Cool.Seem to have it working now. If the jar is like a zip inside a zip, then I thought 2 would still have done it? no matter, have put it up to 5. After that, tested again and the mail got through clean! .... Weird I thought, so then I rechecked what I had put in the archives filename rules, and no...

Re: jar files in zip

Thanks for the advice. Just had time to test it before I headed out the door, and it did catch the mail now, however not for the reason I expected! It was caught unde 'other infection' , with the Report field saying "message contained archive nested too deeply". Any ideas? The jar file was just dire...

Re: jar files in zip

I've just done that. Will now test it. To be honest, the thing I am finding most confusing trying to configure all this, is the seemingly various conf file locations - this one in /etc/MailScanner and then there is mailscanner.conf in /etc/mail/spamassassin and also in there is local.cf I never know...

jar files in zip

Hi folks, Got an email through today marked as clean, which had a zipped jar file in it. I have no idea how to check where the settings are for rejecting such things - I googled some stuff, and saw posts relating to mailscanner, but I can't see any of the directives (such as archive depth, file type...

Re: Any workaround for no DNS available?

I did a bodge to get the installation process to complete - just added a zone to my DNS and added an entry for efa-project.org in there. Remains to be seen if I can still utilise the functionality of the other modules without non local DNS being available.

Cheers

Any workaround for no DNS available?

Hi all, I have a network which is not directly connected to the internet, and as such cannot send out DNS queries. All our traffic is proxied through squid - there is other traffic such as MRP system etc, however this is fine as it only needs to traverse the VPN to our parent site where such systems...
